We supported the I.S.I.S. (Instituting Science in Schools) Science & Culture Festival, a multidisciplinary education initiative designed to make science, space, and technology more visible, relevant, and inspiring to urban youth. The event brought together NASA, cultural leaders, and interactive programming to increase STEM engagement through immersive experiences, hands-on activities, and culturally competent learning. As part of the festival, Mos Def was featured to help bridge science and popular culture, reinforcing the project’s broader mission of making STEM more accessible and aspirational for young audiences. The event also featured a special holographic appearance by NASA astronaut Leland Melvin and was hosted by Goapele at the Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland.
